Idiot of the Day

Robert George – another hack writer for that rag of a newspaper The New York Daily News.

It’s writers like George who fan the flames of the misinformed and play into the general populations ignorance. How these reporters even look themselves in the mirror is a wonder.

The first paragraph of his article “Having a Gun and Being Black Doesn’t Make One a Suspect” (published in the  NY Daily News 7/9/16) reads, “What about the next shooting? How should we, the public, look at that? How do we put some context into far too common tragedies?”

Well first off, you ignorant, poor excuse of an apparently educated person – having a gun and being ANY color would raise suspicion until it’s determined if that individual is a criminal or a good guy. Secondly, the only commonality between the  “common tragedies” is the fact that the person who ends up dead is usually resisting arrest, using deadly physical force against the officer, doesn’t comply with and/or fights with the police. How many interactions are there between the police and the public (black, white or otherwise) on a daily basis that doesn’t end with someone getting killed?  When do we put the onus back on the individual?

George cites statistics compiled by the Washington Post on police involved shootings. What he doesn’t talk about is the fact that in 2016 – 512 people have been shot and killed by the police. Of those – 238 were white while only 123 were black. That’s one hundred and fifteen more whites killed this year by police than blacks. Hardly the evidence needed to prove that the police are racial biased in killing blacks.  And, of the 512 people killed by the police in 2016, only 35 were unarmed.

George than goes on to write that “the police are only too eager to reveal a deceased’s criminal record or declare that this person was no angel….”  He believes this is done to “prejudice the public”into thinking the police were justified.  Is it not reasonable to think that the deceased’s criminals background is important? Isn’t it “germane” Mr. George in showing an individual’s mental state?  Doesn’t it give reason and motive as to why that person may resist being arrested and possibly risk returning to prison?

Stop buying the New York Daily News folks.  It only keeps writers like Robert George employed.

It’s amazing.

Every lawyer for these motorcyclists is claiming their client is innocent of all charges.
Have they seen the videos?
Lets hope these animals are convicted and get the maximum sentence allowable by law.

What World Are We Living in?

A one year old child was shot and killed today in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn. News 4 reports that the mother and father of the child were walking along the street with the baby in a stroller. The reporter stated that when the shots rang out, the father took off running and only discovered that the child was shot and killed after he returned to the stroller.
What world are we living in when a father would chose to run for cover rather than protect his defenseless child?
Ever get between an animal and her babies? A mother would protect them at all cost.
Then you have Tony Herbert, a community advocate, make a statement that if the father was the intended target, he should have been given a pass because he was with his child.
Really Tony? That’s your advice to the murderer?
I guess all would be ok if the shooter just came back tomorrow when the father was alone.
Unbelievable.

Update: (September 2, 2013)
Channel 4 News tonight reported that the baby’s father, who was the intended target, is not cooperating with police.
What a real fine young upstanding member of his community. His parents did such a good job raising him. They must be so proud.

Lets hope he doesn’t bring any more children into this world.

Education Does Not Cure Ignorance

leave a comment »

Judge Shira Scheindlin has proven that all the education in the world can not cure ignorance. It’s too bad that Cornell and Columbia University did not offer any classes in common sense. Her ruling against the NYPD’s Stop and Frisk program will benefit no one except the criminal.
It’s of no surprise that at least three of her previous rulings have been overturned on appeals.

Judges such as Scheindlin and Nicholas Garaufis, who ruled that the NYC Fire Department test was biased, have proven that they are more concerned with grabbing headlines and making a name for themselves than doing what’s right for the people of this country. Both need to be censured.
Both have demonstrated through their rulings why judges should not be seated for life but should serve for a specific term.

(Both Scheindlin and Garaufis were appointed by President Clinton.)

Way To Tip Your Hand

The NYPD announced today that they will ask pharmacies to hide GPS devices in fake prescription bottles in an effort to track the thieves who steal such prescription medication as oxycodone.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly has been quoted as saying that this effort, “…may lead us to stash locations across the city.”

Lets just hope the thieves don’t read the papers or watch TV because the only location where these devices may lead the NYPD will be the floor of the pharmacy.
Way to tip your hand.
